过了好一会儿，鳄鱼才从睡梦中醒来。它感到饿了，就拾起掉在水中的果实吃，但说来也怪，现在吃到的果实味道跟过去大不一样，又涩又难吃。
它正感到纳闷，突然发现果实上有啃过的齿痕，再朝树顶上一望，只见一只狒狒正坐在树上悠闲自在地摘果子吃。鳄鱼心中不禁升起一股无名怒火，可又想不出什么好办法把狒狒干掉，因为狒狒不肯下树来或到湖边上去喝水。
